DESCRIPTION
Get ready for an unforgettable experience: a hike to the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, where you will discover the most amazing landscapes of the Peruvian Andes. The adventure begins at 4:00 a.m. with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. On board our private tourist transport, we will travel for about two hours to Cusipata, where you will enjoy a comforting buffet breakfast at our restaurant.
After breakfast, we continue along a scenic route to the Ausangate property, where our hike begins. This elevated starting point allows us to significantly reduce the ascent time and maximize the visual experience. Just five minutes into the hike, you can already appreciate the Ausangate Lagoon, a natural gem that marks the beginning of a trail surrounded by glaciers and turquoise lagoons.
During the hike, which is moderate in difficulty and lasts 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on the group's physical condition, you can choose between two options: the horseback route, ideal for those who prefer more comfort, or the trekking route, perfect for hiking enthusiasts and those seeking a direct connection with nature.
Our goal is Qorisoncco Lagoon, famous for its three distinct colors, as well as the Turquoise Lagoon, located right in front of the Ausangate glacier. There, the guide will share relevant information about the geology, history, and legends surrounding this sacred mountain. Afterwards, you will have free time to rest, take photos, or simply enjoy the scenery.
Next, we will return to the starting point and board the transport to Cusipata to enjoy an Andean buffet lunch. Finally, we will return to Cusco, concluding a day full of nature, fresh air, and unforgettable views of the majestic Ausangate. -
