  • Introduction

Experience a unique cultural experience with this short hike to Inkilltambo, an archaeological site hidden in the surroundings of Cusco, ideal to acclimatize actively while connecting with the living history of the Inca empire.
The adventure begins at the Main Square of Cusco, from where we start the hike taking the Antisuyo road, an ancient Inca route that is part of the Qhapaq Ñan road system. This first section immediately introduces us to the history, nature and spiritual legacy of the Andes.
As we advance, we stop at key points such as the Temple of the Monkeys, an ancient ceremonial site, and then at the Temple of the Moon, a ritual center dedicated to feminine cycles and lunar energy. At both places, our guide will share fascinating details about their symbolism within the Andean cosmovision.
After touring these temples, we continue along trails surrounded by Andean vegetation until we reach the heart of the tour: the archaeological complex of Inkilltambo. Its Quechua name means "flowery garden", and it was a sacred place linked to water worship. Here you can explore terraces, channels and ceremonial enclosures built with the architectural mastery of the Incas.
After the guided visit, we begin the return descending along an alternative route to Huayracpunku, from where tourist transportation will pick us up to return comfortably to downtown Cusco.
This hike is perfect if you are looking for a light, cultural and authentic activity near the city, away from mass tourism. In just half a day, you will immerse yourself in landscapes, ancestral wisdom and historical paths that remain alive.
