TREK MACHUCOLCA HUAYLLABAMBA

Description:

Machucolca is located 35 km from the city of Cusco, in the Huayllabamba district, on the left bank of the Urubamba River, at an altitude of 3,870 m.a.s.l. The name comes from the Quechua language that was converted. Machu = old and Colca = Warehouse, means Old Warehouse.

Likewise, the Inka deposits are situated in front of the snow-capped Chicon, and the natural cooling of the colcas can be achieved through the use of the appropriate topography and the presence of the winds. To reach the colcas, one must walk approximately 500 meters from the Raqchi viewpoint.

What was Machucolca?
