The Huchuy Qosqo Trek, hidden in the heights of Lamay, offers a unique opportunity to connect with the past of the peoples of the area. At a height of 800 meters above the Sacred Valley, you will be able to witness a spectacular show of lightning and thunder descending from the sky.
According to the chronicles, this site was built by the Inca Wiracocha as a resting point, it is one of the main archaeological centers with an impressive and fine architecture, ending in the Sacred Valley of the Incas below Pisaq and Ollantaytambo.
The most important construction you will see is a 2-level building with a fine stone-based finish. In the same way we will find Kallancas (Place where Inka officials stayed), beautiful terraces preserved over time, water channels, etc. Of course, the walk is designed for all those who love adventure. You can see the towns of Qoya and Lamay, apart from Calca and a large part of the sacred valley of the Incas. Therefore, the original name of Huchuy Qosqo in Inca times was Kaya Qawana, or the place where lightning is seen.
Description of the Huchuy Qosqo Trek Tour.
We start the tour recognizing them from their respective hotel, and then transfer them to Chinchero (Cuper Alto). Next, our guide will make a small offering with the sacred coca leaves, towards the Apus to have a day full of energy. In this way, we start a tour in the middle of an Andean valley, surrounded by crops, accompanied by hummingbirds, canyons, bodies of water and much more. After a walk of approximately 3 hours, we will arrive at Huchuy Qosqo, a point where our guide will explain about this tourist site.
After having enjoyed this point, we will begin the walk, descending to the town of Lamay, where we will enjoy a nutritious lunch at the Parwa restaurant. Finally, we will move to the city of Cusco.
