DEVILS BALCONY CUSCO HIKE - FULL DAY

Description:

The devils balcony is located 20 minutes northeast of the city of Cusco, the Devil's Balcony stands at an impressive height of 3800 meters above sea level. It is one of the many tours close to the city of Cusco, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the cultural evidence of the area while surrounded by the beauty of nature. The Balcony of the Devil is also known as the Bridge.

The balcony stands 10 meters high, constructed from a combination of granite and limestone minerals, and the lower part has been eroded by the waters of the Chakn river water, a tunnel has been created, which gives it the shape of a rock castle.

Also, the balcony has a triangular shaped window almost 2 m from side to side, resembling a room. Probably, this natural formation was an Inca or huaca shrine, to offer offerings and worship to water and Pachamama.

Temple of the moon

It is a 40 m rock formation, located 3 km from the city of Cusco, exactly on the Inca road from Cusco to Antisuyo, in which the Incas performed Andean rituals. Excavations at the site revealed buildings, platforms, burials and remains of channels.

Monkey Temple (Kusilluchayoq)

Formed by the outcrop of limestone rock that forms a passage, located a few meters from the Temple of the Moon. Likewise, it has a rock where zoomorphic figures such as snakes, toads, and monkeys or pumas are carved.

San Blas neighborhood (Toqocachi)

This old neighborhood called Toqocachi, "salt cave" in the Inca era, is one of the most iconic neighborhoods in all of Cusco, since here are the art galleries of Cusco artists, it has very magical and pictorial streets, In addition to having one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the entire city of Cusco.

Itinerary:

We will start with picking you up from your hotel at 8:00 am.
Transfer to the Archaeological Park of Saqsayhuaman, sector of the big chincana.
From that point we will start our hike up to the Devil's balcony.
At the same time we will make a visit to its surroundings and then go out under the tunnel and continue our tour.
We will arrive at a small waterfall, and we will continue towards the Temple of the Moon.
We will make a small visit to the temple of the moon and continue to Kusilluchayoq (temple of the monkeys).
