MORAY.

It is located 40 km from the city of Cusco, and 7 km from the town of Maras, at about 3500 m.a.s.l. The word Moray seems to come from the corn harvest that took place in the month of May, which was called Aymoray, and also from the dehydration of potatoes, which is called Moraya or Moray.

Moray was possibly an Inca agricultural experimentation center where experiments were carried out, since the temperature varies in the form of concentric circles on its platforms. Having the highest temperature in its central circle and gradually lowering as it rises, there are 20 different types of microclimates. Moray is believed to be attributed as a model to calculate the production of the Urubamba Valley, as well as other places.

They are located 46 km from the city of Cusco, at about 3380 m.a.s.l. They are made up of more than 3,000 5 m² pools in the Qaqawiñay ravine, they are fed by an underground saline spring of more than 110 million years during the formation of the Andes mountain range.
