What is the formation of the colored mountain?
Approximately 24 million years ago, the tectonic plates had alterations, resulting in the different changes between the mineralogical layers such as sandstones, halites, gravels, calites that contain different colors, compacted are the ones that currently give life to the colored mountain.
Why does the mountain have these colors?
According to the Landscape office of the Decentralized Direction of Culture of Cusco (DDCC), stated that the colors are due to the mineralogical composition and oxidation of the same, produced by the humidity of the area and degradation.
What are the colors contained in the Vinicunca mountain?
Pink, it is composed of red clay, fangolites, and arilites.
Whitish, it is composed of quartz sandstone and marls.
Red, it is composed of claystones and clays belonging to the Upper Tertiary.
Green, it is composed of phyllites and clays.
Brown earthy, it is composed of fanglomerate belonging to the Quaternary age.
Mustard yellow, composed of calcareous sandstones.
How is the climate?

Itinerary:
First, we start our tour by picking you up at 03:30 am.
After a 1:30 h tour, we arrive at La Montana Restaurant.
Buffet breakfast in our restaurant.
Then, we move for 1:20 to the motorcycle parking lot.
We will have a short briefing.
We start our ATV tour to Mountain of Colors.
Finally, after 1.30 h we arrive at the last parking lot.
We start our walk of 45 minutes approximately. Optional (horses or motorcycles) extra price.
Then, after having reached the mountain of colors, there will be adequate time for photos.
We will return by the same place until we arrive at our parking lot.
